What vegetables and fruit can a guinea pig eat?

To supplement a guinea pigs diet and provide them with important vitamins and minerals, it is great to feed your piggies vegetables and fruit. Like the human diet, some foods are better for them than others and it's important to know which foods a piggy can enjoy and how much they can have of each daily.
As a general rule, guinea pigs can have one cup full of vegetables a day. Because of its sugar content, fruit is generally regarded as a treat and should be restricted to only one or two servings a week.

When preparing vegetables and fruit for your guinea pigs do as you would if you were eating them yourselves. Pick only fresh produce and wash with cold water, removing any pips, seeds or cores.
FEEDING GUIDE
Below is a guide to help you select which vegetables and fruit to feed your pigs. When making a guinea pig meal, it's great to mix it up and provide them with variety. This is not only good for their diet, but it will also keep them excited about meal time (if indeed that is ever needed!!)

TOP NOSH | Every day
The following are great vegetables for guinea pigs and can be eaten every day:
Butterhead Lettuce
Cos Lettuce
Radicchio (Italian chicory)
Red Leaf Lettuce
Romaine Lettuce
Zucchini (courgette)
GREAT GRUB | 2-4 times a week
The following will be very popular but should be limited to 2-4 times a week:
Arugula Lettuce (Rocket Salad)

Squash (only the flesh)
