FEEDING GUIDE
A plentiful supply of good-quality forage—whether fresh grass or hay—should sit at the heart of your small pet’s daily diet, typically accounting for around 80% of what they eat. This high fibre intake plays a vital role in keeping their digestive system moving as it should, while also helping to naturally wear down continuously growing teeth.
Alfalfa hay can be introduced as a supplementary forage, offered in moderation alongside their regular hay. Thanks to its richer nutritional profile, it is especially suited to young, growing animals, breeding pets, or those needing additional support during recovery.
For healthy adult small pets, however, alfalfa is best reserved as an occasional addition rather than a staple, as its elevated protein and calcium levels can exceed their everyday dietary requirements.
Store your hay in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and in its original packaging. If you want to store it in another container, be sure it has adequate ventilation.
