About the Range
What is the Natural Nibbles small animal range and what makes it different?
Natural Nibbles is a range of seriously tasty, gently dried treats and forage mixes made especially for small animals. Think flowers, herbs and veggies you can actually recognise, rather than mystery “pellets of doom”. We stock it because it ticks our big boxes: natural ingredients, no pointless nasties and bags of enrichment value.
Which small animals can enjoy Natural Nibbles?
Most of the range is suitable for herbivorous small furries like rabbits and guinea pigs, and many bits can also be enjoyed by other small pets such as hamsters and gerbils. Always check the individual product description on our site where we spell out who it’s suitable for. If you’re not sure your particular floof is included, give us a shout before you serve.
Are Natural Nibbles treats OK for both rabbits and guinea pigs?
Yes – Most (if not all) of the Natural Nibbles goodies we stock are perfect for both buns and piggies, as they’re built around forage, flowers and veg rather than sugary junk. We’ve labelled species suitability clearly on each product page so you can double‑check you’re picking the right bag for the right belly.
Ingredients and Nutrition
Are Natural Nibbles treats genuinely natural?
Natural Nibbles do what it says on the tin (well, pouch / bag) – simple recipes using natural ingredients, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives added just for show. You’ll see things like dried marigold, rose, beetroot and carrot on the label, not a chemistry set of E‑numbers.
What actually goes into the forage mixes and treats?
Depending on the product, you’ll find a mix of dried flowers, herbs, leaves and veggies – think flower mixes, veggie bites and hay‑friendly sprinkly bits. Each product page on our site lists the ingredients in plain English so you can check for favourites (or anything your pet needs to avoid) at a glance.
Are any Natural Nibbles products high‑fibre and suitable alongside hay?
Yes – many of the forage blends and nibble mixes are designed to complement a hay‑based diet, adding texture, flavour and interest rather than replacing the main event. Use them as a tasty topper or scatter them through hay to encourage foraging, while keeping hay as the main course.
Do you stock grain‑free or low‑sugar options from Natural Nibbles?
We know a lot of small‑pet parents want to keep grains and sugars sensible, so we prioritise the more natural, forage‑style products in the range. Look for mixes built around flowers, herbs and veg, and check the ingredients list on each product page – we highlight when something is grain‑free or particularly treat‑y.
Feeding and Safety
How often can I feed Natural Nibbles to my guinea pig or rabbit?
Treat them as you would any good‑quality treat or forage mix – a little sprinkle or a few pieces once a day is plenty for most pets. They’re there to add fun, flavour and enrichment on top of a core diet of hay, fresh water and the right veg, not to replace the basics.
How much should I feed at a time, and does the portion change for different species?
Bigger floofs (like rabbits and rabbits) can generally have a little more than smaller ones (like hamsters, mice or gerbils), but the golden rule is “small handful or pinch”, not half the bag in one go. Start with a modest amount, see how your pet’s tummy and weight respond, and adjust from there.
Are any Natural Nibbles products unsuitable for certain species?
Some items are best kept for specific species, and certain small animals (like degus, chinchillas or those on special diets) can be more sensitive. Always read the suitability notes and ingredients on our product pages and, if your pet has health issues or is pregnant/nursing, check with a vet before introducing new treats.
Usage and Storage
Can I mix Natural Nibbles forage into hay to encourage natural foraging?
Absolutely – that’s one of the nicest ways to use them. Toss a little through your pet’s hay so they can snuffle, rummage and dig for the good bits, just like they’d forage in the wild. It turns “hay again?” into a daily treasure hunt.
Can I use these treats for hand‑feeding and bonding?
Yes, many of the smaller pieces are perfect for hand‑feeding shy or nervous animals. Sit quietly, offer a nibble from your fingers and let them decide when to come closer – over time it can really help build trust and confidence.
How should I store Natural Nibbles products once opened?
Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and steamy kitchens. Reseal the pouch tightly or pop the contents into an airtight container to keep everything crisp and tasty, not sad and soggy. If you spot any mould on your treats / forage, please dispose of them, this is probably a sign they have been stored in humid conditions and your small furries won’t appreciate it! Of course, you can always get in touch with us if you have any concerns!
Do the products have best‑before dates, and how can I check them?
Yes – each product comes with a best‑before date from the manufacturer, and you’ll usually find this on the bag itself. When your goodies arrive from us, have a quick peek at the date and aim to use them while they’re at their freshest and most fragrant.
