Ridgeback Guinea Pig
The Ridgeback guinea pig has a smooth short coat with a distinctive ridge of standing hair along it’s back. This“mohawk” runs from its neck until its rump. The hair on a Ridgebacks hind legs can appear tufty and look like it is growing upwards rather than downwards.
| APPEARANCE: Short-haired with ridge of standing hair running from neck to rump.
| FUN FACTS: Despite the mohawk hairstyle, Ridgebacks are not known to like punk music. Ridgeback pups may not show any sign of the ridged hair until they are several weeks old.
| PERSONALITY: Known for being playful and friendly.
| HANDLING: Generally easy to handle as they like the attention!
| GROOMING: Do not require regular hair grooming. Occasional brushing will suffice.
