Introducing the Guinea Pig Village at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park

As the official sponsors of the Guinea Pig Village at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, award-winning guinea pig and small animal brand, HayPigs!®, have designed and built a collection of guinea pig sized houses for the resident piggies. The pint-sized builds include a café, nail bar, church, pub and convenience store, each lovingly designed and crafted to provide not only a visual treat for visitors, but also an exciting enrichment environment for the piggies!

I want a village too! Can I buy one please?!

Sadly, the village at Jimmy’s Farm is very much a one off. It was very expensive and time consuming to make and we just don’t have the capacity to mass produce it.

However, we are working on a very special project for you all! Soon, you will be able to purchase pint-sized versions of all the houses and build your own village at home! They will be about ⅔ scale of the originals and flatpackable for easy storage. You’ll also be able to paint them up (like the originals) and add stickers to customise the signage and windows! Sounds fun?!

A little bit about HayPigs!®

HayPigs!® was founded by Essex based, husband and wife team, Rik & Helen Cridland. As seasoned guinea pig fanatics, they live and breathe all things small and furry and are on a mission to enhance and enrich the everyday lives of small furries and their humans!

HayPigs!® are best known for their range of multi-award-winning circus themed enrichment toys and treats (which will be available to buy right here!) and for appearing on BBC Dragons’ Den.

A closer look at the buildings of the village

The Abby of Sinian Church

Our local church, The Abby of Sinian Church, is named after the Abyssinian breed of guinea pig. Details include a 3D printed (and working) church bell, fabulous stained glass windows depicting our piggies dedication to vegetables and a set of 7 witty church signs that are displayed on rotation.

Nibbles Nail Bar

Nibbles Nail Bar is the place to go for all your piggy pedicures and nail and paw care. Details include some trendy vinyl window artwork, a hanging 3D shop sign depicting a set of nail clippers and 3D shop fascia lettering. Nibbles Nail Bar is conveniently located on “Wheek Street”.

The Corner Shop Cavynience Store

Our corner shop is the place to go for all your “wheek-ly” essentials. The Cavynience Store has a “Poop Office”, “Grass Licence” and sells tickets for the “National Squeakery”. You can also buy a copy of our favourite magazine, Guinea Pig Magazine (as featured on Have I Got News For You).

The Groundhog Inn

The Groundhog Inn is said to be the oldest guinea pig pub in Suffolk and was named by Jimmy Doherty. Details include four Tudor-themed doorways for easy entrance (and exit!), an exquisitely illustrated pub sign by Polish Artist, Karolina Pierianowicz and a sign advertising “Live Acoustic Wheeking” and a “Nap Lounge”.

The Guinea Pig Cafe

Our little homage to the guinea pig café in hit BBC comedy, Fleabag, staring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Details include some tasteful net curtains, a “Chatty Wednesday!” guinea pig shaped chalkboard sign and a shop awning advertising Vegan Breakfasts and “Nom Noms”.
