This Leucillin antiseptic skincare is a must have for your ‘guinea pig health and wellbeing drawer’ (we’ve all got one!). We always have a bottle handy here at HayPigs! HQ.
We were first introduced to this product by the Leucillin team whilst at a trade show, when one of our piggies had been scratched in a scuffle with another resident guinea pig. As anyone who has a herd or even a pair of guinea pigs can testify, sometimes injuries do happen. In this instance, it was a minor surface wound (so didn’t require veterinary attention) but it was a wound nonetheless. A liberal application of this antibacterial solution meant that the cut was then clean and healed up faster.
You don’t need to worry if the product comes into contact with the eyes or ears, as it’s completely safe, won’t sting and is non-toxic.
Leucillin is also great to have on hand for use on post-surgical sites, pulled or accidentally ‘over trimmed’ claws (which result in a bleed) and for maintaining healthy itch-free skin.
